A team of Ministry of Home Affairs today visited the areas of East Godavari district affected by cyclone Hudhud to undertake loss assessment.
The team of five members, headed by Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home affairs K K Pathak took a stock of losses incurred in agriculture, infrastructure like roads, buildings and also saw the documentary evidence submitted by district administration.
Local officials briefed the team on losses suffered by people and action taken to minimise them, besides giving details of relief and rescue operations undertaken. East Godavari district collector Neetu Prasad also briefed the team on cyclone preparedness and rescue operations.
Cyclone Hudhud had hit the Andhra coast in October this year, causing huge damage to districts of Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari.
