Senior CPI leader D Pandian today accused the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre of working against the interests and rights of Tamil Nadu and its people.
Whether it was the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or issues related to farmers, the Centre had acted against the state's interests, he told reporters here.
He also alleged that the AIADMK government was remaining "a mute spectator" as it wanted to 'safeguard' its position.

The central government did not meet the agitating farmers from Tamil Nadu for nearly 40 days in New Delhi, seeking among other things waiver of loans and drought relief, he added.
Pandian, who is here to attend the two-state Committee meeting of the party, said that the future strategy, like alliance, would be decided during the meet.
On supporting DMK, he said CPI would cooperate with any party that was against BJP. "This should not be treated as an alliance for the elections", he added.
