Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma today said the Centre has allocated Rs 925 crore in 2017-18, Rs 130 more than what was sanctioned in the previous fiscal year.
Sangma, during the question hour in the state Assembly, said Rs 700 crore was sanctioned in 2013-14, Rs 578 crore in 2014-15 and Rs 773 crore in 2015-16, under the North Eastern Council (NEC).
Admitting that in some years, there have been a dip in the allocation to states, Conrad said many reasons accounted for that, without specifying them.
He said 16 schemes have been sanctioned by the NEC for Meghalaya with a total estimated cost of Rs 68.94 crore.
