Centre approves Puducherry govt's proposal for swimming pool

The Centre has accorded its sanction to a Rs five crore swimming pool to come up in neighbouring Saram village.

Union Sports and Youth Affairs Ministry has given the sanction and in the first phase Rs two crores would be released before this month end, Health and Sports Minister Malladi Krishna Rao said in a release today.

Rao held detailed discussions in Delhi earlier today with the Secretary to Union Sports and Youth Affairs Ministry Injeti Srinivas.

The release also said Rao along with Puducherry Chief Secretary Manoj Parida met Union Women and Child Development Leena Nair and secured approval for setting up 110 more anganwadi centres in the Union Territory.
