The Centre today approved construction of a 25 km road in Rajasthan which will help people from 30 villages get better connectivity.

A statement from Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore's office said here that the Transport Ministry today issued financial and administrative approval for construction of the Pavta-Narheda road.

The road was in a bad shape and locals had last year held agitation for the repair and reconstruction of the road which falls in the Kotputli Assembly constituency, the statement said.

It claimed that following efforts of Rathore, the state government upgraded the category of the road and the Union Transport ministry issued clearances for its construction at a cost of over Rs 57 crore.
