Centre assures Arunachal in setting up model schools

Union HRD Ministry has assured Arunachal Pradesh of extending all possible help for setting up model schools in educationally backward blocks of the state.

The assurance was given at a meeting between the union ministry's School and Literacy Secretary R Bhattacharjee and state Education Minister Tapang Taloh in New Delhi yesterday, an official communique said here today.

"During the meeting, the union secretary advised that the state government strategize work to absorb more fund from the Centre through timely submission of proposals on teachers' education, scholarships and model schools.

Besides, he also stressed on ensuring timely submission of utilization certificates on all important centrally sponsored projects, the communique said.
 

Bhattacharjee further suggested that the state government to put sincere people in position to avail more fund under the RTE Act.

Taloh was accompanied by state education secretary R K Mishra and education OSD D K Chaturvedi, the communique added.
