The Tourism Ministry has finalised a grant of Rs 48.4 crore for development of projects in the Union Territory of Puducherry, Minister of State in PMO V Narayanasamy said today.
The Tourism Ministry at a special meeting in Delhi on February 1 approved four important projects in Puducherry and also decided to earmark the amount for them, Narayanasamy said in a release received from his camp office here.
The projects are: development of the archaeologically important site of Arikamedu in Ariyankuppam commune panchayat limits near here, tourism infrastructure facilities in Yanam, beautification and improvement of amenities for tourist on the bank of the Oussudu lake and illumination of buildings having heritage and historical importance.

The four projects now approved by the Centre would further accelerate the development of tourism related activities in Puducherry.
