Uttar Pradesh Minister Shivpal Yadav has alleged that the Union government is neglecting the development of the state by not providing its share of funds.

The state government had demanded Rs 1,400 crore from the Centre for construction of roads but it provided only Rs 14 crore, Yadav claimed.

Despite that, the UP government is continuing with the development on the basis of limited funds, the PWD and Irrigation Minister said.

He had come here to inaugurate newly created Unn tehsil here last evening.

The state government has created 28 new tehsils, including Unn tehsil in Shamli district, to develop rural areas, he said.

Yadav claimed that UP is the only state in the country which provides education, medicines and irrigation free of cost.

Water is being provided uninterrupted in canals for farmers to irrigate their agriculture fields, the Minister said.
