"The country is developing at a very fast pace due to the polices of the UPA government. The Centre is not discriminating against any state," the Union Minister of Road, Transport and Highways said after laying foundation stone for a new bridge over Narmada and a connecting six-lane road here.
Gujarat Revenue Minister Anandi Patel was also present at the function.
"After I took over the Road, Transport and Highways Ministry neither Anadiben (minister) nor any of the BJP MPs have come to me for any of the projects regarding the states," Joshi said.
"If the states and the Central government joins hands then development of the states will be manifold," he added.
He said that the Central assistance to all the states under various schemes has considerably increased under the UPA rule.
The Rs 550 crore four-lane bridge and six-lane approach road near Bharuch will solve the problem of traffic jam on Narmada Bridge on National Highway number 8 near Bharuch.
