Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) today accused the BJP-led state government of being silent on Centre's insufficient supply of urea to the state for the rabbi season.
MPCC spokesman Sachin Sawant said for the year 2014-15, thirteen lakh metric tonnes of urea was sought by the state, while the Centre assured to supply only 11.5 lakh metric tonnes.
"However, till this month only 7.05 lakh metric tonnes have been received. This means there is 40 per cent less than what was assured and 46 per cent less than what was demanded," he said.

As compared to this, the UPA government provided 14.2 lakh metric tonnes of urea in 2014.
