Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today said Union Agriculture Minister Radhamohan Singh had promised to release drought relief funds for Maharashtra at the earliest.
Fadnavis held a meeting with the union minister and MPs from the state here today.
"He (Singh) also assured that funds for Vidarbha irrigation scheme too would be given, which the previous government had denied," Fadnavis said in a statement.
The union minister congratulated Maharashtra Government for being the first state to take up projects under the 'Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana'.
