The Centre's 'Meri Sadak' mobile application for giving feedback on the quality and pace of work on Pradhan Mantri Graham Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), has crossed more than one lakh downloads.

The mobile application has brought all the stakeholders on one platform, and the best part is that it has resulted in larger public participation in maintaining rural roads, a senior government official said.

'Meri Sadak' app was launched last year under the PMGSY allowing users to give feedback on the quality and pace of work on the roads under the scheme to the departments and authorities concerned.

"The app enables users to post pictures of a pothole and tag its GPS location. The redressal of the feedback can be monitored via this app as well. At present per month 900 complaints are being raised using this app, out which of pendency is only 3 per cent," the official said.

Redressal of the feedback can be monitored via this app as well.

PMGSY envisages connecting all unconnected habitations with a population of 500 people and above as per 2001 census in plain areas and 250 people and above in special category states which include, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand.
