Coal Linkage Committee of Ministry of Coal has sanctioned bridge coal linkage to the second phase of Shri Singhaji Thermal Power Station (SSTPS), clearing the way for production of 1,320 MW electricity from 2018, an official said.
"Coal Linkage Committee has sanctioned bridge coal linkage to the second phase of our 1320 MW SSTPS, recently," MP Power Generating Company Ltd (MPPGC) Managing Director AP Bhairve said.
He said Western Coalfield Ltd (WCL) is going to provide coal for some time to the under-construction second phase of SSTPS, which is going to generate power from 2018.

"We are developing the Singrauli's coal field and this will take time," he said.
"Till it (coalfield) is developed, we are going to get coal from WCL to run the second phase of SSTPS," he added.
He said that they have already commissioned the first phase of 1200 MW SSTPS.
