Centre sanctions Rs 133 crore to Himachal Pradesh under DDUGKU

The Centre has sanctioned Rs 133 crore to Himachal Pradesh under Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gramin Kaushal Yojana (DDUGKY), BJP MP, Virendra Kashyap today said.

"The amount has been sanctioned for skill development of 15,000 youths upto 2019, he said while presiding over the meeting of District Co-ordination and Vigilance Committee here today.

He also spoke about 28 centrally-sponsored schemes and directed the officials concerned to ensure time-bound implementation of these schemes.

He said under the National Rural Livelihood Mission, 236 self-help groups (SHGs) were setup during 2014-15 and 236 SHGs in 2015-16 and in all 2172 SHGs have been organized in past three years.
 

Stating examples of Mandi, Shimla and Hamirpur towns which have been ranked first, third and fifth place in cleanliness among cities in hill states, he urged the people to make "Swachh Bharat Abhiyan" a big success.

Kashyap said 17,708 individual toilets have been constructed in Shimla district in the past three years while 14.63 lakh man days were created under MGNREGA in 2014-15 and 5.28 lakh man days in 2016-17 till date.
