Centre selects BVK college to run skill development centre

The Bharatiya Vidya Kendra (BVK) college in the city has been selected by the Centre to run a skill development centre and take up the vocational education to new levels by offering courses to students and unemployed youth.

The BVK is among the 48 skill development centres selected by the Central government in the country, BVK secretary in the state K Viswanadham told reporters here.

He said these centres would take up vocational education to new levels and offer the courses accordingly. The centres would not focus on skill development alone, but also develop entrepreneurship traits.

"With an aim to provide the necessary required environment and standards to the students, these centres will work with a suitable curriculum, practical modules under the guidance of eminent academic and industry experts," he said.
