Former Union minister Sriprakash Jaiswal today said both the NDA government at the Centre and Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh are responsible for the ongoing power crisis in the state.
Jaiswal, who led a protest march of Congress activists to electricity office in the city, said there was a lack of coordination between Central and state governments, leading to power crisis in the state.
The Congress leader said when he was union coal minister in the previous UPA government, power plants in the states used to receive coal at the appropriate time.
He also submitted a memorandum addressed to Governor Ram Naik to the senior officials of the electricity department. He said Kanpur city is facing 10-12 hours power cut daily.
