Indian government would take steps to ensure that north east militant groups like the NLFT stop using Bangladesh soil for launching cross-border terrorism on India, Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said here today.

Replying to queries from the press, Rijiju said the Centre would go for full border fencing along the Indo-Bangladesh border.

With favourable government in Bangladesh, we hope that the neighbouring country would put an end to its soil being used to perpetrate militant activities in Mizoram and other states, he said, adding that the matter has been deliberated between the two countries.

He expressed hope that the Land Boundary Agreement (LBA) would bring better understanding between Bangladesh and India which would affect militant movements and also illegal immigration.
