RLD chief Ajit Singh today accused the Centre and the Uttar Pradesh government of being indifferent to the plight of farmers who have suffered huge crop losses in the recent unseasonal rains.
"Both the Centre and the Uttar Pradesh government are deceiving farmers and not providing any relief to them," Singh alleged while speaking to reporters here.
"More than 150 farmers have committed suicide in the state. The farmers are devastated," he said.
He sought at least Rs 25,000 as relief to farmers and Rs 15 lakh as compensation to the kin of those who have committed suicide.
