Centre, WB govt will find solution to financial problem: PC

"I am sure that the wise person the Prime Minster is and the practical person the chief minister is, they will sit together and find out a solution to the financial crisis," Chidambaram told a crowded press conference here.

"We understand the finances of West Bengal are stressed and outstanding debt is also large. Both state and central governments should sit together and find out the means to relieve the stress over a period of time," he said.

Chidambaram said, "West Bengal has gone through a transition. There is a new government. We will continue to support it as we support every state government to implement our programmes.

 

"We will continue to support West Bengal in every way," he said.

The Home minister said that the Centre had increased plan outlay 108 per cent for the 12th plan period.
