Ceremonial parade to commemorate India's 67th Republic day

A ceremonial parade, comprising 28 platoons of cadets from the Indian Naval Academy and sailors ofINS Zamorin,was held at the INA at nearby Ezhimalatoday to commemorate India's 67thRepublic Day. Vice Admiral PAjit Kumar,Commandant of INAm reviewed the parade.

The parade was commanded by Academy Cadet CaptainVijay Sheron, a release from the INA said.

Vice AdmiralAjit Kumarreminded the young cadets and staff on parade about the great sacrifices made by freedom fighters and leaders for securing the freeedom.

"In the 21st century, countries don't develop because of their governments but because of their responsible citizens," he said and urged everyone to stand up for the defence of the Nation and its interests.
 

Meanwhile, the induction of more than 280 young Indians joining INA's flagship BTech course and the Naval Orientation Courses (NOC), a six month training course for the graduate direct entry scheme of the Navy, concluded at the academy.

In addition, INA has already inducted 39 officer trainees for the INAC (MSc) course who joined the academy after three years of training at National Defence Academy,Khadakwasla.

Five foreign cadets, including twofromTanzaniaand one cadet fromMaldiveshave joined the NOC course, while two cadets from Sri Lanka joined for the INAC (BTech) course, increasing the total number of foreign cadets undergoing training at INA to eight, the release said.
