Certificate Course in coaching launched for J&K sportspersons

A special Certificate Course in Coaching for sportspersons from Jammu and Kashmir was launched by the Sports Minister Vijay Goel National Institute of Sports (NIS), here today.

Goel said a meeting of Sports Ministers of all the states will soon be held to deliberate upon promotion of all type of sports throughout the country.

It was first batch of the three-batch programme under Prime Minister's Special Package for J&K.

"This would channelise the youth energy for constructive purposes and divert their attention from disruptive activities, bringing them in the main stream," a press release quoted him as saying.

Each batch consists of 60 sportspersons, coaches and physical education teachers.
 

The minister said that a package of Rs 200 crore has been prepared for promotion of sports in Jammu and Kashmir. He distributed sports kit to all the participants and also released the copies of Syllabus in Hindi in 26 sports disciplines.
