CESC Q3 net up 3.7% to Rs 111cr, closes Cossipore plant

CESC Ltd, the flagship company of RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, today reported 3.7 per cent rise in net profit for the Q3 ending December 2014 to Rs 111 crore.

It had posted a net profit of Rs 107 crore in the corresponding period of last fiscal, the company said in a release.

Net sales during the quarter under review was at Rs 1,236 crore as against Rs 1,186 crore registered in the same period of 2013-14.

The CESC said the 65-year-old 100 MW New Cossipore generating station of the company had permanently ceased to generate power during the quarter.
