CESC Q4 net marginally up by 2% to Rs 248 crore

Power major CESC Ltd today reported a marginal rise of 1.6 per cent in standalone net profit at Rs 248 crore for the quarter ended March 31.

The company had reported a net profit after tax and minority interest of Rs 244 crore in the year-ago period, CESC Ltd said in a filing to BSE.

The company's total income from operations during the quarter increased to Rs 1,479 crore, over Rs 1,416 crore in the year-ago period.

The total expenses increased to Rs 1,102 crore, over Rs 1,042 crore in the year-ago period.

However, the quarter result on the consolidated basis were not available.
 

The company is engaged in generation and distribution of electricity and does not operate in any reportable segment, it added.
