"Under the dynamic leadership of Shri Abhay Singh Chautala, the Indian boxers brought rich laurels and accolades for the country by winning medals in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and the 2012 Olympics in London and other prestigious international championships," Parminder Singh Dhindsa, President CFI, said in a statement.
"Further, we request all the representatives of the Nationals Sports Federations (NSFs) and State Olympic Associations to whole-heartedly support Shri Abhay Singh Chautala for ushering in a dynamic leadership in the IOA," the statement said.
In the upcoming elections, Chautala will be squaring off against incumbent IOA Secretary General Randhir Singh for the post of president.
