CG appoints Neelkant as new EVP & President for industrial biz

Crompton Greaves (CG) today said it has appointed K N Neelkant as Executive Vice President as well as President of its industrial business division.

"Avantha Group Company CG has appointed K N Neelkant as Executive Vice President and President of industrial business unit," the company said in a statement.

CG is mainly into manufacturing of electrical appliances and consumer products. It also has business interests in making of power and distribution transformers as well as reactors.

Neelkant, who will also be a member of CG's Executive Committee, will be taking over the reins of the business from Anil Raina, who will be retiring on March 31.
 

In addition to the role of head of industrial business unit, he will also supervise CG's EPD business in India and the company's distribution franchise in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, said the release.

An electrical engineer from the University of Pune, Neelkant brings in 20 years of experience in strategy formulation and deployment, project management, supply chain management and manufacturing across sectors including infrastructure, power transmission and distribution and engineering.

Prior to joining CG, he was associated with Siemens for around 10 years.
