CG Foods commissions plant in Bihar

Nepal's CG Foods, makers of the popular Wai Wai noodles, has commissioned a plant in Purnea district of Bihar.

The company has invested Rs 30 crore in the plant having capacity to produce 15 million packs of noodles per month, which would cater Eastern region markets of Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Orissa and Eastern Uttar Pradesh, CG Foods India said in a statement.

The four-acre plant, which is operational from March 1, is expected to directly employ about 400 people, it said.

"This is part of our efforts to deepen our pan-India presence," CG Corp Global Managing Director Nirvana Chaudhary said.
 

The group has also manufacturing facilities in Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh and two locations in Assam.

CG Corp Global has interests across a variety of FMCG products. Apart from Wai Wai instant noodles, it has noodles brands as Wai Wai Quick, Bingo, Tenz, Mama, Soaltee, MiMi, Sathi and Rin Tin.
