CG rescues stranded fishermen

Four fishermen stranded in the sea, about seven nautical miles from Kodiakarai coast, following technical snag in their boat, were rescued by the Coast Guard and brought to Karaikal today, officials said.

The fishermen from Seruthur coastal village informed the coast guard that they were stranded due to technical snag following which a patrol team, stationed at Karaikal coast guard station,rushed to the spot and rescued them.

Their boat was also towed to the coast guard vessel.

Coast Guard commandant Uthalsingh ordered that they be sent to their native place,after making formal enquiries.
