Unseeded Chaitanya Shah of Mumbai shocked India no.1 Tushar Shahani in four games to enter the under 19 boys' final of the 3rd Indian Classic Squash tournament today.
Shah, who trains in the US, brushed aside Shahani 11-6, 4-11, 14-12, 11-6 in the semi final to earn a meeting in the summit clash against unseeded Yash Fadte of Goa.
Sixteen-year-old Fadte also created a flutter by outlasting second seed Rahul Baitha in five games in the other semi final at the Bombay Gymkhana.
Fadte got past Baitha 8-11, 13-11, 11-4, 9-11, 11-7.
In the girls U-19 semis, unseeded Sanya Vats beat higher ranked Navmi Sharma with relative ease 11-6, 11-6, 11-6 while top seed Amita Gondi beat unseeded Jannia Singh 11-9, 11-8, 5-11, 8-11, 12-10 in a closely contested match.
