Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat today said Chamoli and Bageshwar would be made 100 per cent open defecation free districts in the next two years.
The Chief Minister said the target of 100 per cent toilets in the two district would be achieved under the Nirmal Bharat Mission with extensive drives.
An extra fund of Rs 8 crores would be released to build toilets above the annual targets, he said in a review meeting of the Swachh Bharat Mission with the two district authorities and senior officials via video-conferencing.

He said the families who have received Rs 500 for the said purpose would be given the rest amount in next three years.
According to the release, about 5 lakh families in rural areas alone in the state have no toilet in their homes.
In the Bageswar district 13,526 such families live whereas the number stands at 18,960 in Chamoli.
