Press Trust of India New Delhi
Chana prices moved down by 0.23 per cent to Rs 2,992 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions amidst increased supplies from producing regions in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in September eased by Rs 7, 0.23 per cent to Rs 2,992 per quintal with an open interest of 1,70,610 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in August weakened by Rs 6, or 0.21 per cent to Rs 2,891 per quintal in 13,300 lots.

Market analysts attributed the fall in chana futures to increased supplies from producing regions in the physical market against lower demand from dal mills.
