Chana prices were down by 0.23 per cent to Rs 4,286 per quintal in futures trading today as participants reduced positions, triggered by ample stocks at spot market.
However, some enquiries from dal millers coupled with lower production estimates from the major producing belts, capped the fall.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in April month drifted by Rs 10, or 0.23 per cent to Rs 4,286 per quintal with an open interest of 29,420 lots.

On similar lines, the commodity for delivery in far-month May contracts traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 4,351 per quintal in 11,210 lots.
Market analysts attributed the fall in chana prices at futures trade to adequate stocks positions in the physical market.
