Chana prices fell further by 0.37 per cent to Rs 4,367 per quintal in futures trading today as participants lightened their positions, triggered by ample stocks at spot market against muted demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in May month fell by Rs 16, or 0.37 per cent to Rs 4,367 per quintal with an open interest of 28,820 lots.
Likewise, the commodity for delivery in far-month May contracts shed Rs 11 or 0.25 per cent to Rs 4,437 per quintal in 18,130 lots.
Market analysts attributed the fall in chana prices at futures trade to sufficient stocks positions in the physical market on increased supplies from producing regions against low demand.
