Chana prices eased by 0.46 per cent to Rs 5,682 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels amid fall in demand in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in October fell by Rs 26, or 0.46 per cent to Rs 5,682 per quintal with an open interest of 14,800 lots.
Likewise, the commodity for delivery in September contracts was trading lower by Rs 19, or 0.33 per cent to Rs 5,762 per quintal in 20,220 lots.
Analysts said besides profit-booking by participants at existing higher levels, easing demand at the spot market against ample stocks position mainly weighed on chana prices at futures trade.
