Chana futures down 2.53% on profit booking

Chana prices declined by 2.53 per cent to Rs 6,005 per quintal in futures trade today as participants booked profits at prevailing levels amid easing demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in July drifted lower by Rs 156, or 2.53 per cent, to Rs 6,005 per quintal with an open interest of 5,640 lots.

Likewise, the commodity for delivery in June declined by Rs 60, or 0.98 per cent, to Rs 6,023 per quintal in 15,210 lots.

Analysts said besides profit-booking by traders at existing levels, fall in demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly pulled down chana prices.
