Chana prices fell further by 1.34 per cent to Rs 3,835 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators reduced their exposure amid subdued demand at spot market.

Profit-booking at the existing higher levels also weighed on the sentiment.

In futures trading at the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in the current month fell by Rs 52, or 1.34 per cent, to Rs 3,835 per quintal, with an open interest of 690 lots.

The commodity for delivery in January declined by Rs 47, or 1.21 per cent, to Rs 3,845 per quintal with an open interest of 47,230 lots.

Marketmen said trimming of positions by traders on the back of easing demand in physical market against adequate stocks position, mainly influenced chana prices in futures trade.
