Chana prices rose further by 1.09 per cent to Rs 3,702 per quintal in futures market today as participants engaged in enlarging their positions, taking positive cues from spot market on surging demand from dal mills.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in April shot up by Rs 40, or 1.09 per cent to Rs 3,702 per quintal with an open interest of 87,310 lots.
On similar lines, the commodity for delivery in far-month May was trading higher by Rs 31, or 0.84 per cent to Rs 3,721 per quintal in 25,800 lots.
Analysts said widening of positions by traders on the back of rising demand in the physical market against restricted supplies from producing regions, mainly kept chana prices higher at futures trade.
