Chana gains by 0.3% on rising demand

Lower output estimates also fueled the uptrend

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Extending gains for the fourth day, chana prices today advanced by 0.28% to Rs 4,697 quintal in futures trade on the back of firm trends at spot markets.

Also, lower output estimates fueled the uptrend.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in June month gained Rs 13, or 0.28% to Rs 4,697 per quintal with an open interest of 90,350 lots.

On similar lines, the July contract traded higher by Rs 12, or 0.25% to Rs 4,797 per quintal in 93,590 lots.

Analysts said rising demand in spot markets and reports of lower output this year mainly kept chana prices higher at futures trade.
