Chana prices fell further by 0.97 per cent to Rs 4,686 per quintal in futures market today as participants engaged in trimming positions, taking negative cues from spot market on easing demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in December month declined by Rs 46, or 0.97 per cent to Rs 4,686 per quintal with an open interest of 18,830 lots.

Likewise, the commodity for delivery in January 2018 was trading lower by Rs 44, or 0.93 per cent to Rs 4,671 per quintal in 34,420 lots.

Analysts said weak demand in physical market against sufficient stocks position mainly kept chana prices down at futures trade.
