Chana prices gained 0.52% to Rs 3,683 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions amidst lower output from major producing belts.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in May moved up by Rs 19, or 0.52%, to Rs 3,683 per quintal with an open interest of 81,610 lots.

Likewise, the commodity for delivery in April traded higher by Rs 17, or 0.46%, to Rs 3,677 per quintal in 1,69,720 lots.

Market analysts attributed the rise in chana futures to speculative positions built up by participants amid reports of lower output from major producing belts.
