Chana up 0.6% on upsurge in demand

Commodity for delivery in December traded higher by 0.55%

Chana prices moved up by 0.60% to Rs 2,872 per quintal in futures trade today mostly on rising demand in the spot market, supported by festive season.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in November moved up by Rs 17, or 0.60% to Rs 2,872 per quintal with an open interest of 1,09,320 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in December traded higher by Rs 16, or 0.55% to Rs 2,920 per quintal in 34,670 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions built-up by speculators, driven by firm demand in the spot market in view of festive season led to the rise in chana prices in futures trade.
