Press Trust of India New Delhi
Chana prices tumbled by Rs 97 to Rs 3,469 per quintal in futures trading today largely due to subdued demand in spot markets.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in February plunged by Rs 97, or 2.72 per cent to Rs 3,469 per quintal with an open interest of 1,08,840 lots.

The commodity for delivery in January traded lower by Rs 33, or 0.93 per cent to Rs 3,505 per quintal in 20,960 lots.

Market analysts said offloading of positions by speculators due to lower demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly kept chana prices down at futures trade.
