Commodity for delivery in April added 0.12%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Chana remained higher for the second day and prices gained 0.15% to Rs 3,261 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators enlarged their positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market on pick up in demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in May gained Rs 5, or 0.15% to Rs 3,261 per quintal with an open interest of 35,250 lots.

In a similar fashion, the commodity for delivery in April added Rs 4, or 0.12% to Rs 3,224 per quintal in 87,510 lots.

Market analysts said apart from firming trend at spot market on the back of rising demand and reports of damage to crop due to recent rains in growing regions, particularly Madhya Pradesh, mainly kept chana prices higher at futures trade.
