Chana prices fell 1.45 per cent to Rs 5,085 per quintal in futures trade today as participants trimmed positions, driven by easing demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in October fell by Rs 75, or 1.45 per cent, to Rs 5,085 per quintal with an open interest of 5,040 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in September was trading lower by Rs 57, or 1.10 per cent, to Rs 5,110 per quintal in 10,910 lots.

Market analysts attributed the fall in chana futures to offloading of positions by traders owing to slackened demand in the spot market against sufficient stocks position.
