Chana prices moved down by 1.46 per cent to Rs 3,440 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels amid easing demand at the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in the current month fell by Rs 51, or 1.46 per cent, to Rs 3,440 per quintal with an open interest of 4,710 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in July declined by Rs 45, or 1.28 per cent, to Rs 3,471 per quintal in 1,03,120 lots.

Analysts said besides profit-booking by participants at existing level, decline in demand in the physical market against sufficient stocks position attributed the fall in chana futures.
