Chana prices drifted down by 0.52 per cent to Rs 3,836 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels amid fall in demand in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in March fell by Rs 20, or 0.52 per cent to Rs 3,836 per quintal with an open interest of 79,790 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in April shed Rs 17, or 0.44 per cent to Rs 3,865 per quintal in 20,450 lots.
Analysts said besides profit-booking by participants at existing level, easing demand in the physical market against sufficient stocks position, mainly attributed the slide in chana prices at futures trade.
