Chana prices fell 0.98 per cent to Rs 4,822 per quintal in futures trade today on profit-booking by speculators along with high supplies in major producing states.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for November declined Rs 48, or 0.98 per cent, to Rs 4,822 per quintal, with an open interest of 45,270 lots.

Similarly, chana for December delivery was trading down by Rs 44, or 0.89 per cent, to Rs 4,890 per quintal, with an open interest of 55,310 lots.

Traders said besides profit-booking by speculators, muted demand in the spot market at existing higher levels, mainly led to the fall in chana prices at futures trade.
