Chana prices fell by 1.37% to Rs 3,162 per quintal in futures trade today on profit- booking by speculators due to higher supplies from new season crop and weak demand in the spot markets.
Marketmen said sentiment turned bearish on higher supplies from producing areas against weak demand in the spot markets mainly put pressure on the chana futures prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for May delivery declined by Rs 44, or 1.37%, to Rs 3,162 per quintal, with an open interest for 83,890 lots.
Similarly, chana for April delivery fell by Rs 42, or 1.33%, to Rs 3,108 per quintal with open interest of 41,320 lots.
