ICICI Bank chief Chanda Kochhar becomes the first Indian woman to be conferred with the prestigious Woodrow Wilson Award for Global Corporate Citizenship.
She has joined the league of former Indian recipients-- former President and space scientist APJ Abdul Kalam and IT honcho Narayana Murthy.
The award was conferred by the Woodrow Wilson Centre in Washington DC yesterday.

Kochhar said: "As I see the list of past recipients of this honour, I feel inspired to be counted as one among them."

TII asks govt to curb growing smuggling of cigarette in India * Tobacco Institute of India (TII), a body which represents the cigarette manufacturers, has asked the government to take measures against the growing illegal cigarette trade in the country.
Citing sharp spurt in the incidence of reported seizures of smuggled cigarettes by the enforcement agencies in the country in the past few months, TII said that shares of legal cigarettes is shrinking.
"While the illegal cigarette trade in India is growing rapidly, the Legal Cigarette Industry continues to decline as a consequence of successive years of high excise duty rate increases, cumulatively going up by 125 per cent since 2012/13," said TII Director Syed Mahmood Ahmad.

The new Vespa Elegante special edition is powered by a 150cc engine and has 12 inch alloy wheels that come with tubeless tyres, Piaggio Vehicles Ovt Ltd (India) said in a statement.
It adds to the already existing Vespa portfolio of SXL, and VXL, the company added.
Apart from the company's showrooms of Vespa and Aprilia, the new scooter will also be available for digital purchases via PayTm and Amazon India, it added.
