Chander Pahar crowned, Abir best villain for 'Kanamachhi'

'Chander Pahar' swept the honours by capping two most coveted feathers in the 'Banglar Gaurav Samman Awards'.

The highest budget Bengali film based on Bibhutibhusan Bandyopadhyay's eponymous adventure classic based on South Africa, got the 'Superhit Film of the Year' tag while superstar Dev, the intrepid Shankar in the Kamaleswar Mukhopadhyay flick, was named the 'Best Actor' of Tollywood.

"Got the best actor award for Chander Pahar. ...Don't know whether I deserve it or not....Needed your support and blessings," Dev, also starring in Buno Hans, said.

"But thank you so much for supporting me throughout my journey which I feel just started from this film...Long way to go...Needed ur support and blessings," he tweeted later for the public significantly affirming his new journey now commenced from Chander Pahar.
 

Sandip Ray's new 'Feluda' in 'Badshahi Angti', Abir Chatterjee was considered the 'Best Villain' for his role as the scheming villanious Chief Minister in Raj Chakroborty's mainstream flick on terrorism Kanamachi by the 'Zee Bangla Gaurav Awards'.

"Feel proud and happy," the Byomkesh actor said.

Srijit Mukherjee's brooding thriller on seamier aspects of life Hemlock Society was also in the reckoning for the Zee Bangla Gaurav Samman' with singer Anupam Roy getting the 'Best Singer' crown for belting out 'Ekhon Onek Raat'.

In the best album category popular rock band Cactus' 'Blah Blah Blah got the honours.
