The Chandigarh Airport remained closed for commercial flights for the second day today due to repair of runway, causing inconvenience to a large number of flyers.
Airport officials said commercial services were likely to resume from tomorrow.
Around 18 commercial flights operate from Chandigarh daily connecting the Union Territory with several domestic destinations including New Delhi, Mumbai, Srinagar and Goa.

Only three flights had operated yesterday morning before the airport was closed.
Sources said trains and luxury bus services operating from Chandigarh saw heavy bookings due to the cancellation of flights.
The runway of the Chandigarh Airport is controlled by the defence authorities.
